未消新雪又添寒，初綻梅葩金玉冠。
知曉淩霜香播遠，深諳傲骨韻猶寬。
虛心閱世東西道，靜氣觀天南北巒。
翻日追風冬水促，穿雲逐浪夕霞看。
《未消新雪又添寒，初綻梅葩金玉冠》強寒潮正席卷我國（西伯利亞高壓強勢東移，多地氣溫斷崖式下跌），舊雪還未消融，新一輪降溫降雪又加劇了寒意，精準刻畫出大寒前夕「寒上加寒」的酷冷氛圍。此時蠟梅/梅花初綻，「金玉冠」形容梅花花瓣色澤明黃如玉、質感溫潤，像華貴的冠冕，既點出梅的外形雅致，也暗合蠟梅「大寒前後盛放」的時令特點。
《知曉淩霜香播遠，深諳傲骨韻猶寬》贊美梅花淩霜傲雪卻香氣悠遠的特質，更借梅的「傲骨」抒發心境：即便身處大寒極寒，仍保有寬厚從容的氣韻，不被嚴寒摧折，體現出在困境中堅守、豁達的人生態度。
《虛心閱世東西道，靜氣觀天南北巒》「虛心閱世」既呼應梅枝遒勁卻姿態內斂的形態，也指以謙遜之心看待世間百態；「靜氣觀天」則貼合大寒時節天地沈靜、山巒被冰雪覆蓋的景象，表達在酷寒冬景中，仍能保持內心平靜、從容審視天地萬物的狀態。
《翻日追風冬水促，穿雲逐浪夕霞看》 大寒時節雖天寒地凍，冰下的水流卻仍在湧動，「翻日追風」仿佛水流追逐日光與風，暗含「寒至極處春水生」的節氣規律。以「穿雲逐浪看夕霞」的闊達畫面，傳遞出在隆冬末尾，仍能欣賞自然之美、對未來充滿期許的心境——大寒是二十四節氣最後一個，熬過極寒，春日將至，夕霞的暖色調也暗合「日後天漸暖」的節氣走向。
整首詩以大寒的寒景、梅的傲骨為載體，將節氣特征、自然景象與人生感悟融為一體，既寫實了當日寒潮來襲的嚴寒，也傳遞出寒盡春生的希望與從容豁達的心境。
The old snow has yet to thaw away, and the new snowfall and chill have intensified the cold, precisely the severe cold atmosphere before the Major Cold, where the cold is compounded by more cold. At this time, the wax plum/peach blossom is just beginning to bloom with "the golden and jade crown" describing the bright yellow color of the plum petals, like jade and with a warm texture, resembling a luxurious crown. This not highlights the elegant shape of the plum but also alludes to the wax plum's seasonal characteristic of blooming before and after the Major Cold.
It praises the plumom's frost-resistant and snow-defying nature, yet with a fragrance that spreads far and wide. Moreover, it uses the plum's "proud bone" express one's state of mind: even in the extreme cold of the Major Cold, one still maintains a broad and calm temperament, not being overwhelmed by the severe cold, a persevering and open-minded attitude towards life in adversity.
"Reading the world with a humble heart" not only echoes the plum branch's vigorous restrained posture but also refers to viewing the world's various phenomena with a humble heart; "looking at the sky with a calm spirit" fits the scene of the Major Cold when the world is quiet and the mountains are covered with ice and snow, expressing a state of being able to maintain inner calm and calmly observe the world in the face of the winter scenery.
Although it is extremely cold during the Major Cold season, the water under the ice is still flowing. "Chasing the sun and the wind" seems as the water is pursuing sunlight and wind, containing the seasonal rule that "when the cold reaches its extreme, the spring water will arise." With the broad scene of "looking at setting sun through the clouds and the waves," it conveys a state of mind of still being able to appreciate the beauty of nature and being full of expectations for the future at end of the severe winter—Major Cold is the last of the twenty-four solar terms, and after enduring the extreme cold, spring is coming, and the warm color of the sun also secretly corresponds to the seasonal trend of "the day will gradually warm up."
The whole poem uses the cold scene of the Major Cold and the proud bone of plum as carriers, integrates the characteristics of the solar term, natural scenery, and life insights, not only describes the severe cold when the cold wave strikes but also conveys the hope the end of the cold and the spring and the open-minded and broad-minded state of mind.
